50 YEAR ANNIVERSARY RERUN OF THE
LOCK TO LOCK RALLY
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 12TH, 2008
This will be a rerun of my first rally from fifty years ago. The “LOCK TO LOCK RALLY” was the first one starting in Eau Claire on September 21, 1958. It’s name implies that you will use the full range of your steering gear. It will be a very simple time, speed, distance rally where you are given an average speed to maintain, and there are check points along the way. There will be a short Rally School beforehand. This was also the first rally that Doug Christensen entered, so this will also be a tribute to him. The roads are still great and in good condition although some minor changes will be necessary. Rally School and start will be at Godfather’s Pizza at West Clairemont and Craig Road. After the rally (about 80 miles) we will return there for food, social and awards. We are inviting the Corvette and Volkswagen Clubs to join us for this event. Please come out and help us celebrate this historic occasion. Details will be given next month.
